FCF Quick Closure – Mechanical

Description

The Steelcraft quick opening closure is completely mechanical and requires no tools to operate. The elimination of large heavy forgings, hydraulics, hoses etc makes this new closure a very economical option when quick access to a pressure component is required. The closure is available in 150#, 300#, 900# and 1500# ratings and is offered in carbon steel, stainless steel and many exotic alloys. Please contact us for assistance with your application!

Options

Hydrostatic Testing

  • Generally “hydro-testing” is carried out as part of the testing by the final vessel manufacturer. Hydro-static testing prior to shipment is also available as an option.
  • Size and Pressure Range
  • The FCF Quick door is available for virtually any size vessel - from 12” to 156” diameters. The closure connection is designed and sized for welding to any diameter and thickness, for any pressure from ASME Class 150 though to 1500.
  • Approved Design
  • Our Closures are designed to meet ASME VIII Div.1. as well as other pressure vessel codes, such as ASME VIII Div. 2.
  • ASME Code Stamp with U-2A partial data report is provided.
  • European Pressure Equipment Directive (97/23/EC)
  • Seal Material
  • The standard seal used in our quick door is and oring style gasket, the standard seal is EPDM or Nitrile material which is relatively inexpensive compared to other closure manufacturers. Many other elastomers are available including Silicon, Viton, Teflon, Kelrez / Temperature range is -45°C to +210°C according to the elastomer specified.

Hydrostatic Testing

  • Normally carried out as part of the final vessel test but an individual closure hydrotest can be provided as an option.
